WEEK 30 RICHMOND: Pov: Your Pre-Frontal Cortex Isn't Fully Developed

We back with another week of "The Daily Life of Elder Baird", where we see how this kid still sometimes acts his age. Rip.

No worries though😁! The work is working, and I'm working on the work. So I guess you could say, it's working!

This week has been epic though. Holy, so much goodness. Wednesday we had a lesson with Li, and it was goated! Bro is staring to realize how the gospel can change his life, and he's already seeing so many blessings. God is truly working on him rn, and it's so amazing. He's had some problems, and he told us that he listened to hymns before bed, and he's never been able to fall asleep without extra help. But the hymms put him right to sleep. It's so epic.

Thursday, rise of the morning sun, three little birds, sit by my doorstep, singing sweet songs!  įžŽåĨŊįš„夊气, couldn't ask for more. Had a convo about aliens with a new member, pretty lit. Then at English class, had two friends pull up, and the "spiritual thought" turned into a "2 hour spiritual debate?'" But they said æ…ĸæ…ĸæĨ at the end. So I guess they want to learn more. No complaints. After a 5pm lunch, we had a lesson with čŒƒå…ˆį”Ÿ. Brotha is goated as always. Soaking up the gospel like me in these sun rays. Bro is goated. Then had English class part two, and I just sat with my lil' į†ŠįŒĢ! Goated

Had a member meal Friday morning with President Yi. Bro made some grubbin' food, always appreciate it. Then had a lesson with Anne, and dropped off a quick thank you poster to a member. We made stickers of every Chinese zone missionary and slapped it on a poster. Quite exquisite. Vivi's the goat though, she always be helping us out with everything.

Had a bright and early lesson with a new friend, James. Taught temple prep lessons to a member. Had another lesson with Li, yessss! My King!! So amazing, bros got some goated ball knowledge. Finished the night with some 三å›Ŋ杀, lowkey the new meta. So much fun.

Shoutout to Jesus for being resurrected in the most epic way!

He's Risen

He Lives

Jesus is King

Palm Sunday was epic. (Mostly).  But epic nonetheless. Church was amazing. We had a bunch of friends show up, and they loved it. Then there was a baptism right after in English ward, so we had all of our friends pull up, and our 4 most progressing friends, were like, yup, now this is epic. Had a lesson with 范 too, and I keep saying this, but bro is the goat. It just makes sense to him. It's so cool to see how God has prepared so many people to recieve His gospel. Went to Chen åψåψ's again to give the sacrament, she's great. Then had the most epic 复æ´ģčŠ‚æ™šäŧš ever. We did a church wide egg hunt, and all the old Chinese people loved it. Shared a fire spiritual message about easter week, then had Potluck! Chinese potluck is sooooo goooooood! You never ask, "What am I eating?" No. Just eat it cus it tastes good đŸ‘

I got a parking ticket đŸ˜ĸ

Monday was planning. Gotta love it. Also got to teach math to Annie and Caroline. They're these two little girls, and their mom has the missionaries help them with their math homework. 5th grade math is flippin crazy. Or maybe I just haven't schooled in 9 months. But we ball nonetheless. The spirit brings to our rememberance. So it's all chilly

Now today...

We decided to go on a hike.

It was beautiful, it was snowy, and very, very icy. Obviously, I know how to hike, so not much of a problem there. Unfortuently, I sometimes don't know how to smart. But the hike was lovely, super fun, super funny, and nice to finally touch some snow.

Then Elder Baird walks by a river.

It's frozen.

He knows it's chill to walk on it.

So he does.

Then he hears "jump on it."

So he does.

🧊💔

Goes right through it.

He knew it wasn't too deep.

But then again, it's a frozen lake.

And that is me being "don't know how to smart."

I had to hike the rest of the day in soggy jeans, socks, and shoes.

Gotta love it.

Then got some doughnuts. Straight fuego!!!đŸ”ĨđŸ”Ĩ

Finished the evening off with shopping, lesson, and again, English class.

Chillin fr!

Believing in Christ is amazing and wonderful and yes, do it.

But can we also Believe Christ?

One of my new favorite names of Jesus Christ is the "Fulfiller."

I think it's super simple. Christ fulfills allll of His promises. Everything He has ever said, everything the prohpets have prophecied. They have been, or will all be fulfilled.

So when God says "I love you". Or when Jesus says "I know you". Can we believe that? Yes, Yes we can. Because everything They say are true.

When Jesus atoned for everyone, it means "EVERYONE". When He says "I will forgive you 70 times 7". He will forgive you "Every Single Time". No one can escape His love. When we are promised that we will live again, and have a perfect resurrected body. Believe that we will. Because we will. He has fulfilled everything, even death. He is the fulfiller!

So

Believe Him
Believe Christ

WEEK 29 RICHMOND: Moldy House: 1 - The Elders: 0

No matter how hard we try, sometimes, it's never enough.

That is the case with this house.

The disease has gotten the best of us....

But anyways!

There ain't really anything to complain about. I got a bed. Food..... (well we are out of that, and may be broke) ((no msf đŸ˜ĸ)) but we live :) As long as we spreading the joy of the gospel, we livin' litty!

This week was great though, so lemme tell ya about it.

Had a baller DC on Wednesday. Our distict is only the Richmond Chinese missionaries. So we about to lock in on this Chinese group. This place will become Zion, One Heart, One People. All living with the Love of God in their hearts. It finna be epic. After DC, we hit up Mickeydeez. It was pretty good. Had a music practice back in WR, miss that place, and apparently I'm forced to sing in ZC. But that evening is when everything went downhill. Not feeling too great...

Thrusday morning, woke up, my voice was coooooked. But had Zone Conference. Easter themed #HeIsRisen! Jesus is King. It was such a good zone conference, super spirit filled, and learned a lot. Being a missionary is a continous grind of learning and becoming better everyday. Pretty epic. Sang with BanBan, and two other sisters. My voice was an octave deeper than usual. Rip💀 but we ball. We keep livin'. After ZC, we went for language study, and Elder Barnes got robbed by a group of 13 year olds. Lowkey got outplayed. They had that down to a system. Quite funny, but sad cus is was Elder Barnes "magic bag". He's lost it like 3 times, and always finds it again. So he was bummed. Had to fill out a whole police report thingy. Then had English class. It was so much fun. We played Clue IRL, so lit.

Friday morning was lowkey crazy. We were getting an oil change in the morning, and we got a call. Aparantely a random guy found the contents of Elders Barnes's bag all over the floor of his apartment complex. He found bro's temple recommend and knew he was a missionary, so came and dropped it off at the mission office. Elder Barnes ended up getting everything back but a BOM and some coins. (Crazy conversion story about to happen, trust) Had two epic lessons, with some even more epic friends. Also went to the library, and it was infested with Roblox Kids, constantly yelling at each other. This generation is cooked đŸĢ

Taught a temple prep class Saturday morning. Got a refferal of a friend named Li. We gave him a chapel tour, and bro is sooooo prepared. Bros a refugee and has some crazy experiences, and has found God himself. Now it's time for him to find the truth, and bro was like, yup, I need this. He's so awesome, and I'm so excited to help him open his eyes to how Jesus can change his life. Did an English class stand, and Charles pulled up! He was a friend that got baptized in Vancouver. So we just hung out with him, and advertised English class. It was pretty epic, and so much fun. Then hit up Badmiton. Fuego!!!

Sunday was epic. Even though me and Elder Barnes were cooked, we still balled. We had friends bringing friends to church. Our friends came to church. Church was church, and church was amazing. Our friends loved it, and it was awesome sauce. A member pulled our friend aside and talked to him for like an hour after sacrament meeting. And told him to get baptzied. The member literally was like "I move next month, I want you to be baptized before then" and our friend, Wes, was like, ok. I'm interested. So that was a huge åĨ‡čŋš. Watched some March Madness with a random guy sitting next to us. Rip Flordia.

Also pause...

Rip BYU frrrrrrr. Holy sad. But it's chilly, they balled out. Hopefully by the time I get home, I'll get to watch two natty's

Ok, continue...

Monday. Elder Barnes was truly gone. It has gotten the best of us. We leave the house to get T&T, 5 minutes later bro looks at me and goes, "Can we do language study at home?" So we leave. Bro crashes. I study. I crash. We both are cooked. Then after a lovely 2 hour nap, we continue the work. Go to the church for weekly planning, it was actually super awesome. Then we made it out in public for the last part. So we livin'. Pray for our goal of getting 19 friends to church this week đŸ™đŸ™đŸ™

Today we hit up the malls, had a movie watch party. It's out! Then had an amazing member meal. Sooooo blessed. Love it.

And that's it.

I'm alive.

Livin' off of egos, rice, and cereal.

And as happy as can be!

Life couldn't be better! Epecially during this time of year.

WE GET TO CELEBRATE JESUS!!!!! WOOOOO!!!! JESUS IS SOOOOO COOOL!!

And ya

"Be a Testifying Fool" - My Father

(second best quote bros dropped)

As I've been out on my mission, I've realized the bigger purpose of life. In high school, my thing was just have fun. Live life to the fullest. Just have fun. Do everything. And guess what, it was a lot of fun. My life has been sooooo blessed, and I've had so much fun and have had so much joy.

But there's more to life than that. And it's been a lot more fun and a lot more joyful. And that's being a "Testifying Fool". As I've read the Book of Mormon, I've just seen that so much of my purpose in life is to preach His word. To help people know Christ, to give my heart and soul do His work and glory. Even if it's just a infidecimal part, it's still a part. When I go home from my mission, I'll still have fun, but I think as members of the church, we could all be a little bit better about being Testifying Fools. Be known for our faith. Don't hide it, don't dampen it, don't bury it. Let everyone know. Our testimonies are an incredible gift, and we are supposed to use it to help others.

So?

Be A Testifying Fool

WEEK 28 RICHMOND: The Apocalyptic æˆŋ子

Well 各äŊåŧŸå…„姐åĻšäģŦ I'm back, alive, and as happy as can be 😁

I am now reporting from Richmond, British Columbia! And let's just say, it's pretty flippin' awesome sauce.

Richmond core = Chinese People

Chinese People = Happy Elder Baird

And happy Elder Baird has been living the dream while doing the good work of the Lord.

We start off the įŦ”čް on Wednesday. Last day in the great town of White Rock. The day was pretty normal. But at the end of it, we got surprised with a member meal. One of the members bought the Quad Japanese Food. So we decided to enjoy our last night, Japanese Food and watched the best 2 years. Watching that movie as a missionary is so funny. Cus it's too true. But I can confirm, I am living the best 2 years rn.

Farwell į™Ŋ៺đŸĢĄ

It's been a ride.

Thursday was transfer day. We pulled up to Richmond, and I got with Elder Barnes. And we immediately had to run to a lesson. Me and Banban are pretty much resetting this area, but Elder Barnes has already served here many times. But that means new friends. We met with Aloysious (dope ahh name)  and had an amazing restoration lesson with him. He's so cool. Taught English class. Lowkey gotta get to work with making this class goated, but it was still really good. Then were about to go to Walley World, but a member hit us up and was like pull up, I got food for ya. So we did and talked with them, and it was really fun. Free food too, soooooo, I ain't complaining.

Then

The house

We came to the apartment.

And I've never felt and tasted more grossness in my life.

Like straight disease.

This place was nasty. Apocalyptic fr.

All the food here was expired, mold, black mold everywhere. So much trash. So much grossness.

So we've been putting our labor of love into this house. And as missionaries, we have a lot of love to give. And this house got it, and continues to get it everyday.

Sitting here right now, I do not taste disease on the tongue whilst breathing, so that's a positive.

But Thursday night, we ended up dropping $300 at Walmart. No MSF be like. Then had English rd. 2.

Friday morning we had a lesson with Mr. 范. He's actually goated, and super humble. We ended up putting him on baptismal date for April 9! It was such an amazing lesson, and I'm super hyped.

Here in Richmond, we have a car. But not necessary. Cus talking with Chinese people is way more fun. And Richmond is basically China, sooooo many of them. It's so epic. But we public transpo everywhere, so it's super fun.

Had a morning lesson with new convert Saturday morning. Then went and played ping pong. Richmond has so many ping pong tables everywhere, it's so blessed. While we were playing we got talking with this family. And it was a super good experience. The husband is a white guy and bros story of finding his wife was like every man's dream. Bro met her at the Eiffel Tower on an unplanned trip to France. And was going to the same part of China a month later, as his wife was from. So cool đŸ˜‚đŸ™. Finished off the day with game night

Sunday was pretty great. Every Sunday the Elders give sacrament to 陈åψåψ (Chen mama) she's 104 years old. And is the cutest ever. Bro kept yelling 帅å“Ĩ (handsome boy) and įžŽåĨŗ (beautiful girl) at us. So funny. Then had church. It's kinda weird cus 2nd hour is first hour, and sacrement is 2nd hour. But we had a lot of friends come, so it was pretty epic. Then we had a lesson with Owen and Grace. They were a couple me and Elder On met in WR, but we referred them here. And they are sooooo cool. Like actually so amazing. And the lesson was amazing. And the member participating dropped straight bars. Goated fr! They are on date for the 26th of April, so it's super exciting. They are so prepared. Then had a lesson at night with Scott. Bro is also super duper awesome.

Richmond is Blessed!!!

Monday was goated. Got a killer Mango Smoothie in the morning. Shoutout Taiwan. Take me back.  Then went to T&T, which is a Chinese superstore. So that means lots of chinese people and good food. (The 2 best things in the world). We sat down to start weekly planning, and I had the thought to pull out my Chinese BOM æ‘Šįˆžé–€įļ“, so I did. And 10 minutes later a guy sits down and starts talking to us. We had a good hour long convo with him. Gave him the book. And bro was like, bet. I wanna read it and check out your church. So it was such a cool miracle. Shoutout Holy Ghost! Goated companion fr! Then spent the next 4/5 hours weekly planning. It's insane. So many friends.

Today was chill, we ended up making a murder mystery short film (stay tuned). Starring Jackson Manning😁. Hit up Costco with the district. Then came back and had a lesson and English class.

So all I can say, is, Life Is Good

I'm just living the best life. And everyone can be just as happy. Live the gospel, and everything is great. Serve others and you get Joy. Pretty simple.

New Comp is also goated, me and bro are way too similar. We have so much fun, and are so locked in rn. It's so much fun.

Now time for epic spiritual thought part...(SHOUTOUT PAPA)

Bro came in clutch with the most epic verse ever. Bro said it, and the only thing I thought was "WOW"

Ron Clark 2026-
"Take care of yourself, stay safe and healthy, and develop calluses on those knees. It's the tallest you'll ever stand before God."

When I read that, it actually just filled me with so much gratitude. How cool is it that we have an All Powerful Father in Heaven. My Savior and Redeemer. My Jesus.

And how cool is it that we get to talk with them 随æ—ļ随地?

We get to stand before them any time, any place. We get to communicate with them. We get to ask for blessings. We get to bless the lives of others. All through prayer.

As a missionary, I've never felt more need to pray. It is truly such an amazing gift that we have. We can PRAY! I've seen blessings, miracles, and JOY all come from it.

And I love the imagery of Standing before God and Jesus Christ on our knees. They have given everything to us. He has given everything to me. So I will. I will pray always. I will stand high as I kneel before Him. And I'll do as Elder Holland says, "As much as you pray right now, Pray More."

So I invite you all do the same..."develop calluses on those knees. It's the tallest you'll ever stand before God."

It's an honour and a priviledge to serve

WEEK 27 WHITE ROCK: Dominos Delivery Guy for the Win

Lowkey though, this week has been  'Goated"!

There's just something about being out here. Living life. Finding joy. Doing the Lords work. It's pretty epic.

We just ballin out here fr.

Bringing smiles to the people's faces. Precious memories indeed.

Last Wednesday we had the last DC. It's been a good run with them. Then hit up a side quest. We met a person at pickleball and she was like yo, pull up to my art exhibit. So we did that. It's a whole Chinese art gallery and it was really cool. Then there was one of the grand teachers that pulled up, and she was like 'yo, I'll teach you how to do Chinese calligraphy' and we were like 'bet' and she was like, "I also teach you Chinese, you teach me English" and we was like, "even better."

厌įžŽ

Food hampers is alway a plus. Tis a good time to be alive. Hit up exchange with Elder Barnes "Class Leader". And it was lowkey fire. We gunned our way up to Coco (Elder Barnes getting many 'check your speeds' in the process) to make a church tour. We gave a tour to these two people who were found by the AP's, and they are the most elect people ever. It was crazy. We finished at the baptisimal font and they were like, ya' that makes sense. We will meet with you. Then we chilled at the church and our friend Peter pulled up. Peter was baptized super far up north, and I'm besties with him now. But he came and we made hot pot together. It was so fun and so delicious😋 Then had another amazing lesson with a friend named Jill. It was an incredibly spirit filled lesson. She was lowkey glazing us missionaries the whole time, but she also has seen how much the gospel has changed her life.

Me and Elder Barnes hit up Edgewood park the next morning. For those of you that remember, that's a park I played pingpong at 1st transfer. So it was fun to go again. And I saw so many friends that I had met previously, and it was so fun to talk with them. Had a lesson with JT, who was also someone we tried really hard to get in contacnt with first transfer. So it was awesome to see him being taught.

Saturday we got sent on a wild goose chase. Got us driving an hour to meet with a myster man, but no show đŸ˜ĸ, I was ready to put him on bap date. Rip. Met with a friend Amy, that Elder Fank and Elder Tomp met on exchanges. And it was like a 3 hour lesson. We taught her so much, and it was so amazing. She was like ya, I want to go learn for myself. So uhhh, lets flippin go! Filmed a video for our facebook page, and there was a birthday party happening at the church, so we got free cake and pizza đŸĨŗ lets also flippin go!

Sunday

Holy

It was Awesome Sauce

AUBREY GOT BAPTIZED!!!!

YIPPEE

It was so spirit filled, and I was just so joyful. I'm so grateful God led us to her, and bro is going to be such an amazing disciple of Jesus Christ. I even got to play the piano for her baptism. (Thanks Mom and Dad for making me take lessons. I've always been super thankful for them😁)

It was actually so funny though. Right after the baptism by emmersion part, we all waiting in the chapel. Then the pizza delivery man pulled up with like 5 boxes of pizza. Like bro, who be ordering on a Sunday😂. But also, like bro, I ain't complaining. Massive respect frfr.

Finished off the night with my last family dinner. The sisters made delicious roast beef sandwiches. And lemme tell ya: I love being a connoisseur of good food. Then finished the night with a lesson with Andrew.

Monday we got the big news...

I'm leaving White Rock đŸ˜ĸđŸ˜ĸđŸ˜ĸ

But I'm going to Richmond đŸĨŗđŸĨŗđŸĨŗ

I'll be with Elder Barnes, so we about to lock in and have a lot of fun. I'm sad I'm leaving White Rock, cus this place has been so goated, but it's chilly cus I'll be back.

Had English class in the morning, and it was just so much fun. And such a miracle too because all of our students showed up. So I got to say goodbye to all of them. Bitter-Sweet fr. Love them so much. Then had another day of pickleballing, so goated. Then had a suprise member meal. So blessed. Finished off the night making green curry. I'll make you proud, Dad🙏

Today was just good as always. Had district p-day. Played good ol' sports. Then finished the night with another member meal. Again. Blessed!

It's been a truly amazing transfer. I'm excited for the next year-and-a-half as a missionary. It kinda hit that 2 years lowkey isn't enough. So like, I gotta make it worth it. And talking to Chinese people is so fun. So it's def worth it.

But I've been reading Alma recently, and I'm in the war chapters. Straight Fuego. As a kid, these were the only things that got me through the BOM. And now reading them, it's even better.

But the Strippling Warriors are so epic.

Alma 56:47
"They had been taught by their mothers, that if they did not doubt, God would deliver them."

First of all. Shoutout to the greatest person on this earth. My Mom. My mom's the absolute goaat. and I'm so thankful for her testimony and how much she's taught me. I truly have been born of goodly parents.

And second, doubt not, and God will deliver. The most true statment ever. I've boxed that word over 50 times in the BOM, and I love it. Because God is the deliverer.

My favorite necklace that I wear is a rope, then a surfboard looking pendant with SOH engraved on it. It stands for "Son Of Heleman" (shoutout Mom again for buying me this many years ago). And I just love the reminder to be a Son of Heleman. To have such strong faith in God, that I will be delivered out of anything and everything. Now it doesn't prevent me from being uninjured. But I will survive every fight.

Goated

The Asian Becomingness continues.

See ya'll in a quick 7. đŸ¤™

Hear me out though, this may be đŸ”Ĩ
