WEEK 21 WHITE ROCK: The curse has lifted??? ...

Gang, I'm only semi cursed. Transfer Boards dropped and I get to stay! Hurray! Elder On is leaving. Not Hurray.

So that's the big news of this week. I'm staying in White Rock, which is lowkey chill because the past 6 weeks have felt like 1. And my new comp Elder Fankhauser is mad chill and such a cool dude. I had so many playdates with him transfer 1, so we tight like that.

The week was epic that

Type Beat

Wednesday was so fun. Last DC, and the day was great. But that night we had a lesson with Pei JIa again. The lesson was so spirit led once again. The lord is working strong on him. It was so cool though, had a great talk about tithing. He leaves to China this Friday, but will be back in March. And hopefully when he gets back he will be ready. He shared such a powerful testimony, and talked about how logical our church is. Because he's a scientist and he was like 'yuh, it just makes sense. More things prove that there is a God than not." So I guess you could say he's a cool bean.

Lets gooooo. I get 6 more weeks of food hampers. Sooooo blessed! Thursday had another Chinese language lesson with Caiε…ˆη”Ÿ. Not me actually enjoying learning Chinese and why Chinese is a thing...it's so much fun. Then had an epic English class where we did tongue twisters. It was so funny, but so much fun. I actually love these students so much. They're the goats.

Friday, we met with our friend Rebecca in the morning and talked for like 2 hours, talked about politics and culture. Soooo pretty epic. Met this man named Terry. He's cool. A mechanic. Talked about cars for 2 hours. Type beat. Then had pickleball, and a friend we met named Elijah pulled up with his friend. They were pretty cracked, and I finally got to turn on sweat mode. Lets just say they got some taste of what a Utah boy's pickleball looks like.

Book of Mormon is goated

Go read it

Saturday was a beautiful day. Sun was shinning. The people were happy. :) took a nice walk around a park and chatted it up with some peeps. Had a lesson with Song 叔叔 and I actually kinda understood him. Like huge gift of tongues. Bro sounded like he was speaking just regular normal Mandarin. Such a cool miracle. But he goes to China next week. Sad. Then had a member meal with Sister Villeneuve and her grandkid Sebastian. They're so awesome. Costco lasagna for the win. Had a lesson with our new converts and it was epic. They just yapped about how cool all the missionaries are. πŸ‘ And finished the night with jamming out on the Grand Piano. Much happiness!

Got 5 friends to Stake Conference on Sunday. And got some ι₯Ίε from memebrs, and cooked em up. Sooo flippin delicious! Had another White Rock missionary dinner, quite epic. And balled out

What more can I say

Yesterday we had English class. And it was even more epic than last time. It was the last time 2 of the misisonaries would be there, and after the class we all just talked and took way too many pictures, but it was so much fun. Like I said. Our students. The goats πŸ Sent out a quick 500 invites over text. Light work. Then that night, the entire Chinese Zone just somehow ended up on a facetime call. It was quite epic and was so much fun. Being in the Chinese zone is so blessed. We just all a big family pretty much.

Today was final P-day with my boi. So we hit another lift with Zack. Hit chest. Light work. Then hung out with our district. Threw some more burritos, basketballs, and footballs. (Also ripsticks, cus those things are impossible to ride). Had a memebr meal with this awesome family, and just enjoyed life.

Life's just good

Cool little find though

εε—ζžΆ

That's the Chinese word for the cross.

But also translates to "Yoke one has to endure"

How cool is that?

Jesus Christ sacrificed His life for us. It was His Yoke He had to Endure. He chose to do that. He chose to do it. It was His burden that He took upon Himself. All for what? All for us. So that His Yoke is easy, and His burden would be light. His entire atonment was done for each and every single one of us. And I think.... I know, that the only reason anyone would ever choose to to that is because of perfect love. And because He is the only person to walk on this earth to have a perfect love, He's the only one who could've chosen to sacrifice His life for us to live.

So trust when He asks us. He literally asks us!

Give Him your burden

Cus if you don't

His sacrifice had not point.

He loves you

I love you

And go find someone who needs some love

Don't know how this happened...

WEEK 20 WHITE ROCK: Is it spicy?

Guys, next week is transfers. It's literally so crazy, like I feel like transfers just started last week. It's so wild.

But anyways

This week was pretty flippin amazing. Two big takeaways from this week. Pickleball is a majestic  sport, and one we get to play every morning. And 2. Fog is the coolest form of weather ever. Rain sucks. Snow is good. Sun is better. And fog is best. The fog here is so cool, like you just sometimes be chillin in a big cloud.

Anyways...

Wednesday, had district council. Then decided to count the number of eagles we saw on the 30 minute drive-

We counted 45

It's actually so cool. We see so many eagles here, and y'all may think that's weird. But eagles are cool, and we saw 45 of them on one drive. They just be big chillin for real. Dad, this one's for you. I wish I had a big cool camera, cus I could get pictures of the eagles, and the epic fog. But an eagle will always be cool.

Later that night we had an amazing lesson with Pei JIa. He's been going through some mega ruff stuff recently, and so he kinda was just talkin to us for the first hour and a half. Then the spirit was like alright, mic drop moment, and I was able to share a super simple yet such needed scripture for him. It was just so cool to see how much God loves him.

Thursday is a goated day, because I get to do part manual labor, and part epic service. I love Hamper Thursday so much. Then we met with this guy who's friends with the sisters, and does a weekly Chinese lesson with them. So we've started joining that, and it's so much fun. Bro gave us the writing packet for homework with all the white boxes and stroke order (iykyk) and lowkey made me so happy. Yes. I was happy to get homework. :) Had English class, which is always a highlight, and had a lesson with our buddy Shaun after.

Friday we pulled up to a meet and greet type function, and ended up talking to this Chinese lady for 3 hour!!! All of it standing up! I was lowkey fighting for my life. She was standing perfectly still the whole time, and I was lowkey just trying to move. But we locked in and had an epic convo. Had a lesson with Song, and I'm slowly but surely coming to understand his Chinese. Like his Chinese is so cooked, that our Chinese members can't understand him. It's sooooo funny. But he's the goat, it was actually an awesome lesson. Then locked in on pickleball activity. Some of them are pretty cracked, so it's fun to play with them.

Saturday was a day. Went to the park and saw Mr. Song. So we walked with him for a solid 30. He's so funny. Then went to JoJo's Chicken shack for a birthday celebration (Shoutout Elder Roller for being unc status now) Had a lion dance practice. Hit up the driving range with our friend Mark. I'm getting pretty cracked at this point. Lowkey though it's so epic. So many of our friends love golf, so we just do our lessons thereπŸ˜‚. Peak mission life! Then the dinner.

If you want details lmk.

Let's just say, the dinner was amazing. Awesome family. The wife's the only memeber, but they've had missionaries over before, but when we walked in, they were so happy that we spoke Chinese. It was such an amazing night though. They made Chinese food which was so good. I had a noodle dish and the grandma was like yo, is it spicy? And I was like nah, light work. Which suprised them all. But then the grandma was like, want real spice? I said sure. She gave me a spoonful. The family freaked out cus they thought white boy was about to die. Ate it. Not super spicy, but some of the best spice I've ever had.

But that's where things went bad

30 seconds after, it hit my stomach

The effects were felt

Upset stomach the rest of the meal

Get home

Lets just say it was a rough night

3 trips, and going to bed an hour late

I succumbed to the torment

And am a living breathing free man

Sunday was goated, even though ptsd hit hard. Hard fought war. But church was great, and I got to play ping pong, so w day.

Monday had another goated English class. Then kinda balled out with the missionary life, as one does on a weekly planning day.

Today we hit a lift with our buddy Zack. And boy was it nice to hit the gym, lowkey though, I've lost a lot. The gym grind gonna go crazy when I get home though. Then hit the district up and played some intense games of Throw Throw Burrito.

Epic

I've been grinding 2 Nephi and found a baller line

"Repent and Know"

My soul delights in plainness as well. Repent and Know. Repentance is one of the most joyful things ever. Repent and Know Joy. I love thinking of repentance like taking the most blessed hot shower after a day of work. After a day of mowing lawns, weeding, working outside in the hot hot sun. Getting home and taking a shower. There's not a better feeling of being CLEAN. Repent and Know cleanliness. Repentance is knowledge. It's the knowledge that we can, and are striving to be better. It's the knowledge that the atonment of Jesus Christ brings freedom, hope, joy, and peace into our lives. It's the knowledge that repentance is a gift given specifically for you. Repent and Know the gift. Repentance is how we come closer to our Heavnely Father and Jesus Christ. It's the act of knowing that we can be better, Knowing that we aren't perfect. But knowing through Him, everything is possible. Repent and Know Perfect Love. Endless Love. His Love

Repent and Know

I know that repentance is a daily habit that I'm so grateful I've built it into my life. I love My Savior Jesus Christ. And I know He loves y'all

And in closing

WEEK 19 WHITE ROCK: Happy Lamb πŸ‘ Happy Fam 😊

What's good Y'all???

I'm start off by saying: I love Hot Pot.

Ain't nothing better.

Ohh

and also

The ones truly eatin are the cougs in Blue πŸ₯Ά

Also, it's been super fun. We've started playing pickleball every morning. And I'm loving it. Great way to start off the day, and good motivation to get out of bed πŸ˜‚

Wednesday was pretty epic. I got to walk θ‡θ‡。What's that you ask? It's a dog. A dog named Chou Chou. And yes, it means poop and stinky. Which is somewhat epic, because that dog would not stop eating Geese poop, so fits, I guess. Then had a lesson with Jayson, and bro is so awesome, he just can't get over tithing. But I've got faith. (a prayer or two would be nice too :) Then finished off the night with a NA memebr meal. Who made us chinese food, but also bought Korean food, and some Japanese food as well. So I got very Asianed that night, and they gave us all the leftovers. Was it Blessed? Yes. Very much so.

Hamper Thursday! Let's gooo. I love doing this. It's so much fun and it's so fun to be a small part of such a big impact on so many families. When I was putting the desserts (and they're super nice desserts) in the hampers/boxes, I just couldn't stop smiling. Service is so fun and awesome! Also had english class which is so fun as always. I lowkey  am thinking of going to Taiwan and teaching english. Could be fun. But had a lesson with a new friend named Shaun. He awesome. The first 30 minutes we were just yapping about video games. And mom, every time you told me to get off, I'm just gonna say, it was defenitely spirit led gaming. Because I was able to connect with it. So to all ya'll youngins out there, when your parents tell you to hop off the game, respond and say: Mom, I'm utilizing my talents, and God gives us talents to bless His children πŸ˜

Friday was double pickleball day. Started the day of with it, and ended the day with it. So epic! But unfortuanetly Song Shu Shu doesn't wanna be baptized before he leaves to China. Then we were like, what about when you get back? And he was like, if I come back, I'll think about it. πŸ˜₯ He's so ready and so awesome, but bro needs more faith in himself and his Heavenly Father. But, I guess I got to respect their agency...

Friday was more the usual. Just good ol' missionary work. But I've unlocked a new meal 'Crack-Pot Chicken'

So tasty

Sunday was awesome. Even though we didn't have any friends come, Curse The Rain!!! It was still really great. I lowkey got jump scared though. Both the talks were finished early, and the bro who was conducting looks around, points at me, and says your turn. So I limped my way threw a mini talk. Later that day we had a pass off lesson with our friend Aubrey. We found her at the park, but she doesn't speak chinese so we had to pass her off. But she was so awesome, and the members we had participate was so spirit-led. It was just such an awesome miracle. Shes so awesome and super prepared. After that we had another missionary dinner. It's lowkey so fun! We just cook up so chilla food at the chapel and feast. I made butter chicken, the sisters made Non (the bread stuff, idk how to spell) It was epic. Then we were gonna go to a Timmy's for language study, and we missed our turn, so we went to the next one, and there we just ended up talking to a chinese guy for an hour. Another awesome miracle.

Yesterday was morning english class. We've got the best students. Then had interviews with President which it always awesome. He's such a good man. Also had a super spirit filled, awesome miracle moment during the Zone leader trainings. Like it was literally God saying I love you and am aware of you. Such an awesome experience! First one I've ever really had, and it was super personnel. That night we also had a lesson with our upstairs neighbor/landlords nephew. Andrews the goat. I get to play the piano for them, goated gift from God, and then talk/teach them. It's so awesome.

Then today. Temple day! I'm actually so blessed with how often I get to go. Hung out at the mall with almost the whole zone, whoops. Then had a lesson with friend at Happy Lamb πŸ˜„! Hot Pot is so goated, and I've been fully converted and never want to go back :)

So much food

So good

We're always told that the spirit talks to us in different ways. And throughout my life I always tried to figure out how. And for me, there's been very few experiences where I like clearly heard that voice in my head. And for some time it was a little discouraging because I would think that I was doing something wrong. But now I've come to realize that the spirit talks to me by small thoughts, feelings, and just guidance in general. A lot of the time I don't even realize it. But the spirit is always guiding and leading me. And the experience I had yesterday, was just a reassaurance that God's watching, and the spirit is leading.

When we are baptized, we are promised with a promise that can't be broken on His end, unless we choose otherwise. But it's the promise to always have His spirit to be with us. We will always have the Holy Ghost if we are trying our best. And even though for me it's nothing huge and super noticable. The spirit is always guiding and talking to me, because I'm doing my best. And that's all He asks. Do your best, and I'll reward you tenfold.

Have a blessed week y'all!

Life is good

WEEK 18 WHITE ROCK: It has officially began... The Blackout Year πŸ₯·

What's good Fam!!! It's the New Year. So like New Year New Me type beat. But not really. More like, New Year Better Me. yuuuurrrr

It's actually lowkey kinda crazy that it's 2026. As a missionary, you love the holidays. But like, they don't really feel any different, and it just makes you mad cus everywhere is closed, and you have to resort to McDonalds.

But Hey, hope ya'lls new year parties were as fun as they could be without me there to really bring the party. Just give it a couple, and I'll be back better than ever πŸ˜‰

This week was pretty awesome sauce though. So life is going just great. Quite dandy.

Wednesday we watched the funeral for Elder Holland, and it was super great. 10/10 would recommend if you wanna feel the spirit. Bro was actually the G.O.A.T. Starting the Elder Holland conference talk grind, it's pretty epic. It's New Years Eve so we had to do something. We pulled up to our stake New Years party, and let me tell you. It was so flippin epic. Lowkey turned into a high school dance party. The whole surrey zone was there, so there were a tone of misisonaries. And we only semi moshed. So we were obedient. But the memebers loved it, so it may or may not have gotten pretty crazy. Or I guess. Crazzy Fun!!!!!!! (Yes, missionaries are real people, and we do like to have fun) Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Then the Happy New Year day arrived. Did an early morning exchange with Elder Tompy. And let me tell ya, this day went as not according to plan as you can get. Every thing was closed. We had a lesson cancel on us. And it was crazy. But you learn a lesson. It was annoyingly really funny, but we saw two really awesome miracles. Our final resort was McDonalds, and we ended up on hitting every McDonalds here in white rock. And apparently, chinese people love Mickeedeez. And we had two really awesome convos at two seperate McDonalds. So it is true when people say the Lord is guiding His work.

Thursday we had an epic Zone Conference. And I was fed. Very Spiritually. And also very physically, which I will never complain about. Then had PickleBall night!!! Yes! Halleluijah. The member who runs it is finally back, so I'm boutta ball out.

Friday was pretty epic. It was raining like crazy, so we were left with no choice but to go to big ol' Timmy's. And we ended up having like a 2 hour long conversation with this super awesome lady. Taught her like half the princaples, and gave her a BOM. But at the end we asked for her number and she was like mmmmmm... Let's leave it in the Lords hands and see what happens. Which is funny cus we spent a lot of time talking about God's plan for us, which slightly backfired. But if it be His will (and I really hope it is), then we will meat her once again. That night we had our missionary new years dinner. Which was us three sets of missionaries cooking up some grub at the church. I made BBQ chicken wraps. They were pretty gas.

But that a wrap on the holiday celebrations

Hehe

Fast sunday. A missionaries favorite. But it was super good. Our friend Martin came to church and bro teared up during the sacrament hymm. Which you'd think, awwww, that's super touching. But like no seriously it is. He actually has no knowledge or any backgroun about religion. It's kind of weird for me. Cus like, he just doesn't know anything, but bro is so willing to learn. So I'm excited, and hoping he will be touched by the spirit again. Later that day we proceeded to have another 2 hour conversation with this guy at a community centre. Then came home and at 'Costco Lasagna' sooooo blessed!

Monday we had a successful knocking run of 2/3 houses. First yet of the mission. So pretty epic. The rest of the day was chilly. So we did what every other missionary would do on a chilly day. Hit a cheeky late night lil' Caesers run. Don't worry, we were only 1 minute late after curfew...

Today, we played a narly game of throw throw the burritto. And lemme tell ya. The burritto was thrown!

Epic

Lowkey don't know who said this or where I it from, I think it was Zone Conference. But check this out:

"To know such a God that is first and foremost a parent. A father."

How cool is that. God is an all powerful being. He can do anything. He's Alpha and Omega. He's Omnipotent. But the most important thing? He's a father. He's your Father. He's my Father. and even better, He's our Loving Heavnely Father. How cool is it that His first job is to be a father. And He's a perfect father. I see how cool my dad is, love ya, (love you too mom), and it's just so cool to see that Heavenly Father is the same way. His whole goal is for each one of us to be happy, and to be joyful. And He will do everything in His power, giving us agnecy, to be that way.

Pretty Neat huh?

Peace Y'all

Blessed New Year coming our way
